Formed in the early 1990s, Blessid Union of Souls emerged from Cincinnati with a sound that blended heartfelt songwriting, strong melodies, and emotional honesty. That chemistry quickly led to a major-label deal with EMI/Chrysalis Records and the release of their debut album Home. The band broke through in 1995 with “I BELIEVE” which reached #1 on the R&R pop chart and became one of the most enduring pop anthems of the decade.
Throughout the late 1990s, Blessid Union of Souls followed with a string of Top 40 hits, including “LET ME BE THE ONE”, “I WANT TO BE THERE,” “OH VIRGINIA”, and the fan-favorite “HEY LEONARDO! (SHE LIKES ME FOR ME”) which returned the band to the Top 10 and became a defining song of the era. Their music has been featured in major films, television series, and pop culture moments, and continues to resonate with audiences across generations.
Known throughout the industry as one of the hardest-working and most radio-friendly bands of their time, Blessid Union of Souls toured extensively across the United States and Europe, building a reputation for memorable live shows and a genuine connection with fans. That connection remains at the heart of the band’s live performances today.
